In the classroom where I teach Sunday school, the teacher has a sign up that says, "I'm only here until I win the lottery." While intended to be funny, and while I've had similar thoughts myself, I think putting it on a sign sends a bad message to kids. It says, "I am teaching only for the money. It is a job, not my avocation." Okay, fine. Thanks for your honesty. But why did you go into teaching? It's one of the lower paying professions.
